• The Indian Northern railways to run special Holi trains
• The tickets will carry an extra cost other than the fare
India will celebrate Holi on the 28th and the 29th of March. A huge fraction of the Indian population will travel across the country for the upcoming holidays. In anticipation of the same, the government of India has declared 18 pairs of special trains.
These special trains shall play either be on a daily, bi-weekly, or weekly basis. These trains will be in addition to the currently allowed restricted number of trains. The arrangement has been made for the Northern railways. The duration of the trains shall ply between March 21st to March 31st 2021.
This is a call taken by the government keeping in mind the festival season. However, India along with the rest of the world is witnessing an increase in coronavirus cases. Hence the government has asked people to be aware and alert of the coronavirus protocols to be adhered to.
Travel via these special trains shall have an extra charge levied on tickets other than the fare. It has also been mentioned that there shall be no concession on the tickets.
