• WHO insists on continuing with the inoculation drives in the counties
• More European countries suspend the same including Italy
AstraZeneca was one of the most promising vaccines which was bought majorly by the European countries. However, a major post jab fear is making countries stop the inoculation drive using the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The vaccine was approved to be used by WHO. With countries suspending the vaccination drive countries WHO and the European medicines watchdog now have a worrisome issue at hand.
Italy, Germany and Spain announced on Monday that they were halting the drives over safety concerns. Netherlands and Ireland have already taken the same call.
However, WHO is insistent on the vaccination being carried out so as not to create panic. Indonesia who was supposed to roll out its inoculation drive with the AstraZeneca vaccine is also holding off for now.
Italy faced major deaths and its statistics were overwhelming. With the halting of the vaccination drive, the country is going back to closing its public places again.
