• Microsoft has come out in support of the Asian-American as well as the Asian community
• The racial abuses have spiked during Trump’s tenure
Hate crimes against Asian Americans are on the rise. With the latest viral video of the Nepali Uber driver being abused and assaulted by three women, big Asian American names are noticing things. Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, himself an Asian American has used the official handle of the company to call such acts appalling.
In his tweet, Nadella states that Microsoft supports the Asian community, globally and will stand against any injustice meted out to them. Nadella pointed out that negativity like racism and hatred has no place in the world.
It may be mentioned that the rise of the white supremacy groups accelerated during Trump’s tenure. He was himself rumoured to be a part of a white supremacist group.
The US lawmakers are also worried about the frequently occurring incidents. It is a unanimous stand that lawmakers take when they state that no one in the US should be afraid of being who they are based on colour, race or ethnicity.
