China forces millions to download Xi News App

The Government of China is pressuring its citizens to download an app based on President Xi Jinping and his Communist party. ‘Study the Great Nation’ updates the citizens on the President’s latest activities and about the party’s newest developments. Moreover, the country is gripped by competition over gaining points on the App quiz. The app tests the citizen’s knowledge by asking questions on the Xi government’s economic policies. Allegedly, people are judged by their app scores. Reports of schools exercising criticism over students and employers ranking worker’s performance based on their test score is the latest rage in the country.

The app is reported to have been launched by China’s Tech giant Alibaba. Study the Great Nation is being compared to the distribution of ‘Little Red Book’, in Mao’s reign during the 60’s Cultural Revolution of China, with its inkling to ideological and patriotic purpose.
