Younger Adults Are More Interested To Try Unsafe Sex According to A New Study

Sexual activity has become a very common thing between humans in our recent times. However, the problem rises in unsafe sex which leads to many problems including STDs and other health issues. The spark is due to romance and feelings which due to mass advertising has led to direct sex. Safety during the physical activity is no longer an important thing to matter.

A recent study, published in the Journal of Sex Research has showed debatable reasons on why younger adults would prefer and use unsafe sex during their relationships. The study was based on the use of condoms between men and women and in physical activities between men and men. The decision making when it comes to the use of condoms during sexual activities is important as it leads to a more safer experiences.

It lowers the risk of health risks including sexually transmitted infections, STDs, HIV, cervical cancer and unplanned pregnancy. The study included the use of a 157 males, 177 females and 106 males who have sex with other males. All the participants where in an age ranging between 18 – 25.

The lead author of the study, Dr. Shayna Skakoon-sparling who is a doctor in the University of Guelph, Canada, commented on their findings saying, “Understanding what factors make it more difficult to recognize risk during a sexual encounter, such as the desire for a long-term romantic relationship and partner familiarity, can lead to better prevention.”
